In all Medal classes and finals only one rider per horse is allowed. The same horse may compete with another rider in a different class, qualifying or Medal Finals. Horse shows that hold RI Medal qualifying classes must be held in Rhode Island or meet the out-of-state requirements.
Contestants are required to be current members of the Rhode Island Horseman's Association, Inc. and meet requirements to qualify for the finals as noted for each division. Finals will be held at a designated show in the Fall. Competitors changing age groups can not compete in the medal for the new competitive year until after December 1st in accordance with the December 1st to November 30th riding age rule. In any RI Medal Qualifying Class where 12 or more riders complete the course, it may be split California-style. Any affiliated show wishing to include this class in its prize list must send the fee of $10 per class to the RIHA for each Medal class, including California Splits.

If there is not a minimum of riders of either or both of the RIHA Junior or RIHA Adult Medal qualifying class, the show can combine to meet the rider requirement. If there is not a minimum of riders of either or both of the RIHA Junior Mini-Medal or RIHA Adult Amateur Mini-Medal, the show can combine to meet the rider requirement. The cut off date for qualifying is the Sunday before the date of the finals at midnight. Shows after that date will count for the next year.

Open to Juniors and Adults who are RIHA members prior to showing at the RIHA Medal Championships. Riders can not have ever shown at a recognized show over 18".
2. Finals
All contestants are to perform over at least six fences not to exceed 18" with no combinations. Testing is at the Judge's discretion (USEF Tests 1-6).

Open to Juniors and Adults who are RIHA members prior to showing at the RIHA Medal Championships. Riders can not have ever shown over fences exceeding 2'.
2. Finals
All contestants are to perform over at least six fences not to exceed 2' with no combinations. Testing is at the Judge's discretion (USEF Tests 1-6).
1. Qualifying Requirements
Open to junior members of the Rhode Island Horseman's Association who have not reached their fifteenth birthday and to riders 15 to 17 years of age who are eligible for Limit Equitation over fences as of December 1st in current show year and have not competed in classes in which the entry may be required to jump higher than 3'. All contestants are to compete over a course not exceeding eight fences and not less than six fences, excluding combination fences, at a height not to exceed 2'6", with at least one change of direction. One or more individual tests may be requested, at the judge's discretion (USEF Tests 1-10).
2. Finals
Contestants are not allowed to cross enter into any medal classes with fences 3'0" or higher or compete in a division or class with fences over 3'0" at any show during the year. Violation of this requirement disqualifies the competitor from the finals. The second place competitor shall qualify if the first place rider is disqualified and the class requirements are followed. For the finals, further testing after first round is at the Judge's discretion (USEF Tests 1-10).

Open to adult amateur members of the Rhode Island Horseman's Association, who as of December 1st of the current show year have not jumped 3'0" or higher within the past two show years as a Junior or an Adult exhibitor at a recognized show. All contestants are to perform over at least six fences not to exceed 2'6" with no combinations. USEF Tests 1-10 may be asked at the judge's discretion.

For the finals, testing will be at the judge's discretion (USEF Tests 1-10).
